RE:  Prairie Grove Education Support Personnel

Prairie Grove Education Support Personnel Contract Update

The negotiating teams representing the Prairie Grove CSD 46 Board of Education (Board) and Prairie Grove Education Support Personnel (PGESP) tentatively agreed to a new collective bargaining agreement on November 2, 2017. PGESP has called for a membership meeting to review the tentative agreement and conduct a ratification vote on November 3, 2017 at 4:15pm. The Board of Education will review the tentative agreement and hold a ratification vote at its next scheduled meeting, November 14, 2017 at 7:00pm in the JH Library.

The Board and Administration would like to express its appreciation to the members of both negotiating teams for all of their efforts to bring about this compromise. There were perplexing issues and multifaceted decisions made by both sides that have ultimately led us to an agreement.

Once both parties have ratified the tentative agreement the details will be published on the District website (www.dist46.org), Panther Press, Facebook (www.facebook.com/PrairieGrove46) and Twitter (www.twitter.com/PrairieGrove46).

RE: Prairie Grove Education Support Personnel

Prairie Grove Education Support Personnel Contract Update

The Prairie Grove CSD 46 Board of Education (Board) and Prairie Grove Education Support Personnel (PGESP) continue to meet and negotiate in good faith for a fair and competitive contract. Both parties met last evening for nearly 5 hours. While no resolution was reached, there was good discussion and several open areas were better defined. The next negotiation/mediation session is scheduled for November 1, 2017 at 4pm.

The Board maintains its desire to reach an agreement on all outstanding issues. However, to maintain wide-ranging educational programs, staff stability and student achievement the Board believes that it must safeguard District 46’s financial position for future years. We will keep everyone updated if there are new developments via our website www.dist46.org, Panther Press, Facebook www.facebook.com/PrairieGrove46/, Twitter www.twitter.com/PrairieGrove46 and our Alert Now phone system.
