At the regular September 8 monthly Board of Education meeting for Prairie Grove District 46, Steve Sebastian was appointed to the board to fill the vacancy created by the resignation of Rick Salvo on August 12, 2015. Steve, who resides at 3609 Fawn Trail, Crystal Lake, will serve out Mr. Salvo’s remaining term, which ends with the spring 2017 school board elections.

Steve currently works for MedAssets in Alpharetta, Georgia and serves as Project Director for Capital and Construction Solutions. He is married to Rachel and they have three children; Abby, a first grader at Prairie Grove and four year old twins Andrew and Emma. In his spare time Steve enjoys boating on Chain of Lakes, swimming and playing the guitar.

According to Board President Joe Ricciardi, “After receiving the applications from the candidates and then conducting the interviews in public, Steve was ranked as the board's first choice. He possesses the skills necessary to be a very active and engaged board member for District 46”.
