Prairie Grove CSD 46 is extremely proud to announce that the district is a recipient of the 2016 Secretary of Defense Employer Support Freedom Award, the highest honor the department gives to employers for support of National Guard and Reserve employees.

Prairie Grove was selected from 2,424 nominations received from Guardsmen and Reservists.

As part of the nomination process Prairie Grove physical education teacher Lt. Col. Patricia Klop stated:

"I have repeatedly been assigned military orders due to the nature of global events and the continued high-tempo operations demanded upon my units,” said Lt. Col. Patricia Klop. “My employer enabled me to answer the call of duty without consequence and with their utmost support, which I cannot express into words how grateful I am. I truly share my Marine Corps career success with Prairie Grove, as I could not have achieved the rank or accomplished the missions without their unwavering and unequivocal support."

The District will be honored at a ceremony in the Pentagon on August 26th.

Full details can be found in the official press release below and the District will provide further details later this summer!
