New York Times best-selling childrens book author/illustrator, Tom Lichtenheld, will visit our elementary students on Monday, October 6th.

Several of Mr. Lichtenheld's books have been listed on our Illinois state Monarch Book Award program and his  books fly off of our library shelves!  Our students frequently make requests for us to get more copies of his titles and they are excited that he will be making an appearance here at Prairie Grove!  Tom Lichtenheld will be working with students in grades K-5 on creating effective stories, attempting to see things from various perspectives, and inspiring the creative nugget in all.

Tom Lichtenheld has authored, illustrated or collaborated on 21 childrens books. Several of his books were New York Times Best Sellers, including Shark vs. Train, which was created in collaboration with Chris Barton, Duck! Rabbit!, which was created in collaboration with Amy Krouse Rosenthal, and Goonight, Goodnight Construction Site and Steam Train Dream Train, created with Sherri Duskey Rinder. In addition, Lichtenheld wrote and illustrated What Are You So Grumpy About?, which was chosen by Child magazine as one of the best childrens books of 2005, and Everything I know About Pirates, which was featured in Newsweeks Books of Wonder for 2000.

Please see the attached flyer if you are interested in buying a signed copy of one his titles.
