Early Childhood Education Program

for students ages 3-5 years old

2013-2014 School Year

Registration begins January 14, 2013

District 46 will again be offering the Early Childhood Education (ECE) Program for younger, in-district, children.  The Early Childhood Education (ECE) Program will be offered to students ages 3-5 years old.  Children must be 3 years old by September 1, 2013 to be considered for enrollment into this program.

This program will be a blended program in that special education and general education children will attend classes together.  Two half-day sessions will be available and each session will meet 5 days per week.  Morning sessions will be offered to children ages 3-4 years old and afternoon sessions to children ages 4-5 years old.  Tuition costs for general education students for this program will be $290.00 per month (9 month program).

Free and reduced lunch waivers are not applicable for this program at this time.

Registration for this program will be held on Monday, January 14, 2013 from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. in the Junior High office. You must be a resident of District 46. This requires providing at least two forms of proof - a driver’s license and voter’s registration card.  If you do not have a voter’s registration card, then three current utility bills may be substituted for this requirement.  Gas, electric, and water bills will be accepted, but telephone and cable television bills will not be accepted.  Families who have recently moved into the District must also provide a house closing statement.  Renters will need to provide a signed and dated lease with proof of payment of rent, either a cancelled check or receipt.  State law requires an original or certified copy of the birth certificate at the time of registration. (A hospital birth announcement can not be accepted.)  A copy of your child’s social security card is also needed at the time of registration.  School personnel will be available to discuss physical and immunization requirements.  Your child does not need to attend registration.  If you are interested in registering for the ECE program, but cannot attend during the allotted times above, please contact Barb Bailey at 815-459-3557, ext. 4201.  If interest in this program exceeds capacity, children will be enrolled on a lottery basis.

For questions regarding the ECE program, please contact Beth Martin at 815-459-3557, ext. 4207.

We are excited to again be offering this opportunity for the younger children in our district.
