Dear PG Parent,

Thank you for understanding our concern for everyone's safety during these extreme temperatures. We hope you had a great holiday and are looking forward to the rest of the year full of great instruction and fun events. Please read below!

All students are invited to participate in our Let's Celebrate ROAR Week! It will be a good reinforcement for everyone about respect, ownership, attitude and responsibility. Please read the attached flyer!  (ROAR Week Flyer)

2-1-1 McHenry County
With hundreds of nonprofit organizations within McHenry County, finding help can often be confusing and intimidating. Fortunately, United Way 2-1-1 provides an easy way for everyone to access help with almost any challenge. Dialing 2-1-1 from any phone will connect you to a cell center that will direct you to an appropriate social service agency or nonprofit organization. Trained specialists can quickly assess your needs and offer knowledgeable information and referral for services including rent and utility assistance, food banks, affordable housing, health resources, child care, elderly care, financial counseling, job training, and much more. 2-1-1 is simple to remember, accessible to everyone, and available 24/7/365 at no cost. Get connected with 2-1-1 to reach help, or visit www.findhelp211.org. United Way 2-1-1 can also be reached at either of these alternate numbers –(309) 827-4005 and (800) 570-7284.  (2-1-1 Article from the NW Herald)

5 Essentials Parent Survey
Prairie Grove will be participating in a parent survey this year via the 5 Essentials Survey. For more information and for a chance to provide feedback, please look at the letter attached.  (5 Essentials Parent Letter)

Winter Coats
Some junior high students are arriving at school without coats during these days of low temperatures. I have urged all students to be appropriately dressed in case of any emergency where they may need to go outside. Please talk to your children about this important safety concern.

Elementary Parent Drop-Off
With the cold temperatures, many parents are choosing to drive their children to school.  Please make sure to allow sufficient time. The parent drop off door closes at 8:45.  You can drop off as early as 8:30 when students are allowed into the building. Thank you.

The PTO has so many fun activities and events, we are still looking for volunteers! Please take a look at the list that we previously sent with registration packets, it gives a brief explanation of our committees. There is something for everyone! Please contact Sarah Bittner at sarah122971@yahoo.com with any questions. Please check out our website at http://46pgpto.my-pta.org and like our Facebook page by searching for Prairie Grove PTO. We have attached the PTO Volunteer form for anyone who is interested.  (PTO Volunteer Form)
