Prairie Grove Families:

Three weeks ago yesterday, Prairie Grove teachers, staff, and administration welcomed back 750 smiling students, from preschool through 8th grade.  By all accounts, it's been a great school opening.  Below are a few important announcements/reminders:

District News

Would you like to be a part of looking at how Prairie Grove Schools can improve? Well, look no further! Be a part of Dr. Bender’s Community Coffee on Thursday, September 18, in the Prairie Grove Junior High Conference Room. The program begins at 9:30AM and will end by 11AM. Our first topic for consideration is declining enrollment. See you next Thursday! Please enter through the junior high entrance.

Do you have any questions for the superintendent? Is there something you always wanted to know but didn’t know who to ask? Do you just want to stop in and say ‘hi’ to the new supt? If you would like answers to these, or any other questions you may have, please feel free to stop by Dr. Bender’s office on Thursday, September 18, between 4 and 5:45PM. Each month throughout the year Dr. Bender will have an ‘Open Door’ for any community member to stop by and say ‘hi’ or ask questions of school district operation. Feel free to stop by on the 18th! Please enter through the elementary entrance and proceed to the office area.

We are thrilled to once again offer our 1st through 5th grade students an opportunity to learn to play chess.  Chess is considered the sport of the mind and teaches analytical and critical thinking, patience, concentration, self-discipline, responsibility, how to deal with both winning and losing, and wise decision-making. Beginners are always welcome.  Join Chess -- an exciting and fun enrichment program that meets Wednesdays after school. The first session begins Wednesday, September 24, 2014!  Registration is online and closes September 222014.

Register now to ensure your seat in this engaging and educational course:
