Dear PG Parent/Guardian,

Thank you for a wonderful start to the school year. Students had a very productive week of learning and getting to know each other and their teacher. They also successfully dealt with an emergency situation on top of all that. Safety is our number one concern when your children are in our hands during the school day. As most of you know, through my ALERT NOW messages on Friday, an individual in Wisconsin made comments to police officers that one of our students might be in harms way. We immediately went into our Lockdown Mode, which is a safety procedure practiced each year in our school. Police officers were on the scene to make sure all students were safe and secure. The police confirmed that the situation was safe and we dismissed our students. We can not thank everyone enough for their patience and understanding on Friday! I have been in contact with Prairie Grove and Walworth County Police today and have been reassured their is no danger to any of our students now or in the future.

In terms of starting up the school year, please take a look at the information below for both schools:

MAP Testing will begin this Wednesday for all students in second through eighth grade. The assessment will help teachers drive their instruction, meet the needs of different students, and report student progress to parents. Individual reports will be sent home with first quarter report cards.

The Fall Fundraiser kickoff was held today for both buildings. Please take a look at the packet that was sent home today with your child. We thank the PTO for their hard work in getting this together.
