PGJH Students come together for "Whirled Peace"
School-wide project strives for lofty goals
Friday, September 21st was International Day of Peace and no where was that more clear than at Prairie Grove. Junior high students spent the previous day preparing for the celebration by creating a simple symbol of innocence and peace - a small pinwheel. The pinwheels were adorned with images of peace as well as a personal statement revealing each student's thoughts about violence, war, bullying, and diversity. Once assembled, the pinwheels were planted on the school grounds Friday to signify the school's commitment to "Whirled Peace". All students took part in this event throughout the day during their Co-Curricular periods. Junior high teachers Paulina Levy, Scott Martin, Corey Spella, and Linda Williams joined forces to bring the project to fruition. Local media were present as well to document this exciting event.
