Mrs. Pieroni Wins National Award

by Mary Fasbender

Mrs. Jane Pieroni was honored to receive Office Max’s “A Day Made Better” national award for her excellence in education. Office Max selected only 1,000 teachers from across the nation to receive awards for their dedication to teaching. In Mrs. Pieroni’s case, she was honored for her work in helping students to read more effectively. Assistant Principal, Mrs. Melanie Junge nominated her for this Adopt-a-Classroom Award and was thrilled to see Mrs. Pieroni receive it because “she has taken a leading role in putting best practice reading strategies and materials into place so students could become better readers.”

Office Max will be donating classroom resources and supplies to Prairie Grove Elementary School on behalf of Mrs. Pieroni in recognition of her service to students. Dozens of donated items were distributed to the staff via their “Classroom Start-up Kits.” Some of the gifts for Mrs. Pieroni included a leather office chair, a digital camera, a printer, a supply cart, maps and many more classroom materials.

District 46 and Prairie Grove Elementary wish to thank Office Max for recognizing one of our outstanding teachers. We look forward to our partnership with them through the Adopt-a-Classroom Program.
