Band Students Excel at Solo and Ensemble Contest

Twenty
eight of our thirty eight Advanced Band members voluntarily chose
to participate in the annual Solo and Ensemble Contest in Johnsburg
on Saturday, February 9th. The students participated in 28 events,
receiving one Second Division rating and 27 First Division
ratings. The Second rating was only one point away from
a First, and the First Division ratings included six perfect scores
(Star First ratings). Thirteen more events were just one point away
from a perfect score.
The
District is very proud of how hard the students have been working
on their selections since the end of November, both on th
eir own and by coming in for help
before or after school. None of this would be possible without the
ongoing terrific support of the band program that the staff
provides week in and week out.
