Department of Student Services
by Beth Martin
Welcome to Prairie Grove CSD #46 Student Services Department
We invite you to learn more about the services we provide to the students in District 46.
The Student Services department works collaboratively with staff, parents and members of the community to address the needs of our students. The district employs certified special education staff, NCLB approved paraprofessionals and licensed/certified related services personnel to support the students. Related services that are offered include speech therapy, social work, occupational therapy and physical therapy. We also have access to other supports including vision and hearing itinerant services through our county cooperative, SEDOM.
All special education staff members work closely with the general education teachers to provide specific supports in the areas of reading, writing and mathematics for those students who qualify for these services. Collaboration regarding promotion of student organization and independence is also ongoing. We also offer cross categorical programs for students who may require a greater level of educational support. Our goal is to help all students achieve academic growth, and to insure that any supports required to meet this goal are in place for each student.
If you have any questions or concerns about the student services department, or about the variety of services we can offer, please feel free to contact Beth Martin at 815-459-3557 x 207 or by e-mail at bmartin@dist46.org.
