Pre-Algebra

The pre-algebra class has just completed chapter 4 of the textbook which covered Factors, Fractions and Exponents. We are now going to be using what we learned in Chapter 4 to add, subtract, multiply and divide fractions. Many of the students are struggling with these concepts. I would strongly recommend the use of classzone.com or studyisland.com for review. Once we review the basic operations with fractions we will solve equations using fractions. Attached below is the chapter 5 assignment guide.
There will be a midterm exam covering chapters 1-5 on January 13. Students will be given a review packet prior to winter break as a review.
There is an extra credit opportunity using studyisland.com. Students who visit this website and earn a blue ribbon on any of the topics (there are over 20) will earn extra credit. Each blue ribbon with earn extra credit for the student.
