LITERATURE: Students will continue the historical fiction novel The Witch of Blackbird Pond. Homework assignments will be based on material that was not completed in class.
MONDAY, Jan. 5. Finish reading chpts. 20-21. Complete the discussion questions for Tuesday.
TUESDAY: Discuss questions over chpts. 20-21. Work in groups to complete a review activity.
WEDNESDAY: Library/silent reading/ present review activity
THURSDAY: TEST OVER WITCH OF BLACKBIRD POND
FRIDAY: Begin unit on mythology and folk tales.
LANGUAGE ARTS:
VOCABULARY: Students will learn selected vocabulary words each week during the second grading period. Tests are scheduled for Fridays. Students will be given the list of words and definitions for the week each Monday.
MONDAY: SENTENCE FLUENCY: Clauses and sentence structure. Finish worksheet for Tuesday.
TUESDAY: Sentence structure. Story map #21. Work on short story final copy (homework)
WEDNESDAY: Sentence structure. Short story
THURSDAY: Practice writing using a variety of sentence patterns.
FRIDAY: FINAL COPY OF SHORT STORY IS DUE TODAY. Check the rubric.
