Dear Parents,
Prairie Grove School District 46 wants to keep you informed of the latest H1N1 flu information. Please read the following attachment from the Illinois State Board of Education:
Illinois State Board of Education H1N1 Letter
Illinois State Board of Education H1N1 Letter - Spanish Version
Parents can also check the McHenry County Health Department’s web site for further information on the flu and/or the other State and National links listed below.
Here are some ways to protect you and members of your household:
• Teach your children to wash hands a lot with soap and water
for 20 seconds. Be sure to set a good example by doing this
yourself.
• Teach your children to cover coughs and sneezes with tissues or
by coughing into the inside of the elbow/sleeve. Be sure to set a
good example by doing this yourself.
• Teach your children to not touch their eyes, nose or mouth with
their hands. Germs are often spread when a person touches something
that is contaminated and then touches his or her eyes, nose, or
mouth.
• People who are sick should stay at home or seek medical care if
necessary. If a child becomes ill, they should stay home for two
days after symptoms have subsided.
If you have questions, please contact your healthcare provider or
your local public health department.
