Message from Board President Domoto
A note from the District 46 School Board President to Taxpayers,
Parents, and Employees of the District:
The main topic of the School Board Meeting on Tuesday September
8th was the Health Care Benefits provided to our District
Employees. The meeting was very well attended; unfortunately, many
people left the meeting with more questions than answers. As Board
President, I promise even though the meeting adjourned, it is not
the end of discussions and work on this topic. We are currently in
a fact-finding mode. The process to establish the benefits for this
school year did not yield acceptable results for all parties. At
Tuesday’s Board Meeting it was determined that our Insurance
Committee will conduct research on the Health Plans offered and
will make recommendations in the near future. In the mean time, a
review will be completed to determine where improvements can be
made going forward. On Tuesday the Board of Education committed to
hold another public meeting on this topic once the Insurance
Committee has progress to report. We will give ample notice of the
date and time for any meetings to permit continuing dialog on this
topic.
