ELL Families

by Renee DelMissier

Snowman I was so delighted to meet all of you at conferences to discuss your child's progress. Please remember that I am just a phone call away if you have any concerns.

As I mentioned during conferences, your child should be reading daily. Every week they receive three short stories from our classroom. There are questions at the end of each book. I have also  included a book mark with suggested questions for you to ask your child as you read together. Here are some helpful tips to improve reading:

 1. Read often. The more you read, the easier reading gets. (Good readers, make good writers.)                                                                                                                                2. Read a lot of different things. (magazines, street signs, newspapers, & stories)

3. Use strategies that you have learned in school.

4. Pick out books having a subject that interests you.

* Please remind your child to return borrowed books every Tuesday. Thank you!
