Literature

This week in Literature students will continue reading,   The Outsiders, by  S.E.  Hinton. This is a classic tale covering several important themes.  The students will be enhancing their understanding of a variety of literary elements like, plot, setting, characters, theme, idioms, simile, metaphor etc.  We will be reading an average of 2 chapters each week.    Students must keep up with the daily reading and assignments from their packets.  I will be checking their work each day, but the packets are not collected until the entire book has been read.  Ask your student about what they have read.  This will strengthen their understanding of the novel and provide some nice conversation for the dinner table.
