Congratulations to the Prairie Grove Jazz Band 1 on having been selected to perform at the next Illinois Music Education Conference! IMEC is the statewide annual conference for Illinois music teachers, and performance at the conference is one of the highest honors a band in the state of Illinois can receive. Because this yearโs conference will not be held in-person, the bandโs invitation has been extended to the IMEC in January, 2022. Congratulations to the Jazz Band 1 student musicians, past and present, on this incredible honor!

Happy hat day!

Jazz Band 1 and Advanced Band were just informed that they received Division 1 (Superior) Ratings at IGSMA (Virtual) District Contest! Jazz Band 1 even received a perfect score from one judge. Both bands therefore qualified for State Competition, had it been held this year. Fantastic work, Panthers!!
While the in-person contest was originally scheduled for mid-March, it transitioned into an online format where recordings of the bands performing could be sent in for adjudication instead. The results took some time due to the ever-changing nature of world events, but the results are finally in, and we could not be more proud of the band students! Their hard work on challenging music certainly paid off.

Unfortunately due to this year's COVID-19 crisis, we have had to cancel our Mobile Dentist visit to PG that was scheduled for the end of this month. We look forward to bringing them back to our school next year. Stay healthy and safe!

Here is what Remote Learning in FACS looks like!! The assignment: Create a menu using recipes that you have researched or have at home - include a main dish, two sides, and a healthy dessert item.*I think the "healthy" dessert is practicing social distancing and is staying away!

Photos can include students participating in sports, working out, playing an โorganizedโ game with friends, etc. Letโs see our Panthers being active outside of school!
