PG Jazz Band 1 has been selected to perform as a featured band at the 2026 Illinois Music Education Conference! Selection for featured performance is one of the highest honors a band in the state of Illinois can receive. Bands are selected via a highly competitive blind application process. This will be the 3rd time since 2022 that PG Bands will have a band featured at the conference (Jazz 1 in 2022; Advanced Band in 2024; and now Jazz 1 again in 2026).
Performing groups must wait four years from their last featured performance before being eligible for consideration again, meaning Jazz 1 was selected to perform in their first year of eligibility since the 2022 conference! Way to go PG Band!

6th grade team takes on Squad Day!
Congratulations to the Advanced Band and Jazz Band 1 for their recent performances at the IGSMA State Band Contest! Both groups earned Division 1 “Superior” ratings, the highest rating that can be earned, for their outstanding performances. One judge referred to PG Bands as "one of the best band programs in the state of Illinois". Jazz Band 1 also earned the “High Honors” distinction for their particularly exceptional performance, and earned a perfect score from all three judges. This is the 4th consecutive year Jazz 1 has earned “High Honors” and their 2nd consecutive year earning an overall perfect score.
