Congratulations to PG Band members Nate B, Cody B, Cadee C, Jacob D, Peyton L, Jose M, Steven R, Marybeth R, and Aaron S on their acceptance into the All-Illinois Junior Band! Congratulations as well to Teagan B, who was named as an Alternate for her instrument (this is the equivalent of an honorable mention). The AIJB is Illinois' highly competitive junior high all-state band, and the audition is open to 7th and 8th grade students throughout the state. Only 79 students throughout the state were selected for AIJB, and PG will be the second-most represented school at the festival with 9 students in the band! Only 67% of schools that submitted auditions had students accepted into AIJB, and most of those schools have 1 or 2 accepted students, making this a truly incredible accomplishment for our students. They will perform with the AIJB in January at the Foellinger Great Hall in the Krannert Center for the Performing Arts at the University of Illinois, conducted by Dr. Kevin Geraldi (Director of Bands at the U of I).

Today will be a cold one! Don't forget to bring a hat, gloves, coat, and snow pants for recess. Remember that we will go out for recess if the "real feel" (wind chill) temperature is 10 degrees or higher.
