Congratulations to Steven and Marybeth on a fantastic performance this weekend with the 2022 All-Illinois Junior Band, representing the Prairie Grove bands! Steven was 3rd chair trumpet (of 9 selected) and Marybeth was 5th chair trombone (of 8 selected).
The band rehearsed on Friday and Saturday at the University of Illinois, had a chance to visit the John Philip Sousa Archives and Center for American Music in the Harding Band Building, and performed Saturday afternoon in the historic Foellinger Auditorium.
This year’s guest conductor for AIJB was Professor Barry L. Houser, Associate Director of Bands and Director of the Marching Illini and Athletic Bands at the University of Illinois (pictured here with Steven and Marybeth).
Fantastic work, Steven and Marybeth, and way to represent PG and our band program!
