Happy Thanksgiving from ROAR day artists.
Congratulations to our 6 PG Band members who were selected to the All-Illinois Junior Band (JH All-State)! Paige, Teagan, Cadee, Wylan, Josh, and Maggie earned their spots through a highly competitive blind audition process. For the second year in a row, Prairie Grove will be the second-most represented school at the AIJB!
Additionally, three of these students earned spots in the band on TWO different instruments each: Teagan (euphonium and tuba), Cadee (clarinet and bass clarinet), and Maggie (flute and tenor sax). Maggie also earned an alternate spot on a third instrument (bari sax). While they can only be offered an official spot for one instrument, this is still a HUGE accomplishment to achieve at the State level!
In January, they will rehearse and perform at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, with the band directed by renowned conductor and educator Dr. Paula Crider.
Let's go PG Band!
Congratulations to PG jazz members Teagan and Nick on their performance with the ILMEA District 7 Honor Junior Jazz Band! They were selected through a competitive audition process, and had the honor of working with Mr. David Tribley from Warren Township HS. They performed alongside other great junior high jazz musicians from within District 7 (Lake, McHenry, and northern Cook counties). Great job representing our PG jazz program so well at the festival!
